History or International Studies HELP

Both deal with other cultures and civilizations, but which do you think is more interesting or at least help me get into the field of writing or jounalism?

I've always loved history, but international relations draws from other interesting fields like gender studies and anthropology. History, seems more broad and flexible and I wouldn't have to worry about a language requirment.

Okay. Are you planning on an English major or a journalism major? The best thing that will "get you into the field of writing/journalism" is learning to write well. If you want an internship, some require or prefer an english or journalism degree. Beyond that, what is it that you want to write about, and who do you want to write for? International Relations is more here and now, which would prob. be helpful if you want to do, say, political writing or become a correspondent...

Don't worry about which will look better - as long as you can write well and have something to say, you'll have just as good of a chance as anyone else. I'd suggest doubling majoring - journalism, and whatever it is you want to write about.

You have unlimited options. Other options would include sociology, psychology, American studies, classics, education, etc. Whatever you're most intersted in writing about.
