I'm already aware that PhD's in either subject are facing relatively poor job outlooks, however I'm greatly interested in each subject. I was set on majoring in philosophy and attending grad school for philosophy, yet I've realized that I enjoy history seemingly just as much. Basically, the question I'm asking here is, which PhD is more dynamic once actually attained? Common sense would lead me to think that history has a bit of an edge over philosophy, considering it can also be taught at the secondary level if the PhD is never attained. I suppose this is also a general thread for anybody who has attended grad school for either academic discipline. Any input is appreciated.
