History/PolSci major considering schools

I want to double major in History and PolSci as an undergraduate, then move into law school. I'm not exactly sure where to go, and how I should narrow down my massive list of colleges.

I would like some advice as to where I should focus on applying to, especially for ED/EA. Money is not too big of an issue. I am willing to go just about anywhere.

I am from California and am a very strong student in terms of academics.

College list (already considering my academics):
Ivies
Oxford
Cal
LA
Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, etc.

If you want to go to law school, and you’re considering Oxford, it would make sense to apply to Oxford for law rather than politics and history.

In the UK, you don’t really have ‘double majors’ like we do here in the US; and you don’t get as much freedom in what classes you take. You would likely have to do PPE - Politics Philosophy and Economics, as that’s the closet thing they have.

You’ll need to take or have taken AP tests and scored at least 5s on 3 or more subjects.

All of the ivies UCB, UCLA, Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore all have very good poli sci and history departments.

Without knowing your stats though, no one can tell you whether or not you have a good chance at any of these schools. You also need a safety.

Thank you for your help. I was thinking of trying the History and Politics course at Oxford. Luckily, I’ve already got 2/3 5s on history APs, and on a path to get more.

My safety will no doubt be UCD or SD. My stats are well about their averages, but just to be extra sage, I’ll also apply to my local state university (SFSU).

Stats are as follows:
GPA: 3.8-3.9 UW, 4.6-4.7 W
SAT: 2280, going to retake
ACT: 33 (not likely to send)
APs: 5 on Human Geo, 5 on Euro, taking APUSH, Chem, Lang, and Psych this year, registered for classes in Macro/Micro, Physics CEM, World, Latin, Gov/Comp, Lit, BC in senior year
ECs: High commitment to volunteering - same place for 4+ years (500+ hours), otherwise relatively mild ECs - president of x club, etc. Working on building a few more.
Recs: Going to be good. Every teacher I’ve had likes me - I’m still recognized in the hallways despite not having been in their class for years.
Essays: Have ideas, but have yet to implement them on paper.

Well, there are my stats. Thoughts?
