Does anyone of any? Besides TASP and National History Day.
Whenever I try to search for them, all I can find is science and math related things. :(

Nope. History/Social Sciences aren't quantifiable.

You can help a professor do research or go to conferences, though.

so what could you do to make an social sciences oriented application better? The field rules out all the common programs like Intel, RSI, research programs at universities?

I'm stumped I just can't seem to find much.

Currently I do National History Day and volunteer at a local historical society and art museum.

anyone...?

Be in a history club. Write your essay about how you love history...? Take summer courses.

Is there anyone who has applied to a first or second tier school with intentions of majoring in these fields and gotten in?

I was accepted to Bowdoin. I don't know what I'll major in, but it will likely be some kind of social science.

I volunteered at an archaeological museum, which I suppose demonstrates an interest in social sciences (archaeology/anthropology/history). Consider sending in supplemental materials (possibly an insightful/innovative history essay or project). For example, one of my teachers' letter of recommendation discussed a math project I did, in which I analyzed if the type of government affected the quality of life in 20 countries using quantitative data and then related it to the "typical" American perspective of countries like Saudi Arabia, Cuba, China, etc.

You can also volunteer to tutor kids in history, possibly?

a study abroad program
research assistant to a college professor in your areas of interest
upper level college classes in your area of interest
attend summer conference in your area of interest (do some searching -- these are usually conferences aimed at grad students and college profs)

I got into Harvard with "sociology" as my intended major. I didn't do anything specifically with sociology. My ECs mostly involved being involved with human rights clubs at my school, school newspaper, and local newspaper (sent them a front page article i wrote on drug abuse).

If you're just worried about college admissions, just concentrate on doing ECs that interest you and not about doing ECs specifically related to your major. Otherwise, the suggestions here are very good.

Competitions:
- Mock Trial
- Speech and Debate
- We, the people

If you are referring to the "We, the People" essay contest, I think they lost the funding -- there was no contest for 2007.
