Hey,
Can I ask all the applicants of this year to start posting in this thread. HKU or HKUST post is getting too crowded. Anyways, so guys did you get your result?
Share your up-to-date information here. I have applied to all this but haven't heard anything from them yet.
Good luck to all.

Course name: Master of Economics

Schools Applied: HKU, HKUST, CityU

Response: HKU - Got a conditional offer 3 weeks ago
HKUST - Informed them about my HKU offer saying that I only had 2 weeks to respond. HKUST told me that the chances of getting offers now are low because only a few places are left.
CityU - Had a phone interview about a month ago. No correspondence since then

Current status - Paid HKU deposit last Friday.

@LanykLint Congrats on your offer. Did you get any sort of scholarship?

@Anth456

Unfortunately, no. I was surprised that I even got an admit. My undergraduate degree is in information technology (3 year degree) and from an unknown college. I was planning on giving GRE/GMAT but I didn’t have the time.

What about you? Are you a postgraduate student as well?

EDIT: My username was supposed to be lanKYlint. I misspelled it and did not notice xD!

Ohhhhh lol. Btw, I am junior and I have applied for undergraduate.
Congrats on your offer again.

Oh I see. But, you were born in 1991? If your birth-date is correct, I’m younger than you are!

Lol.No not really.You will be doing your postgraduate in such a young age.Great.

It is customary to complete education without breaks where I come from. Good luck to you! HKU responding early was a bit of surprise. I would have liked it if I could wait for all the other universities to respond. But, HKU was at the top of the priority list so I accepted :)

Got a message from HKUST that competition is high , so application being kept under consideration.had applied for BBA program…undergraduate…12th Indian Board CBSE results awaited …dont know what to make of it !

@Sawhyd Did you apply to hku or cuhk?
@lankylint Thank you… :)

@Anth456 …I applied only in HKUST !

Have you heard anything from The Chinese university of Hong kong? Everyone is talking about HKU and HKUST but not CUHK. I haven’t heard anything from them after the interview so I am really worried.I got my HKU result way before.I wonder why CUHK is not responding yet. They do not even reply to mails … So, those who have applied there, please share anything you know.
Thanks in advance

hi, I am a student from Indonesia.
I’ve got offers from HKUST for Dual Degree in Technology and Management and for Risk Management and Business Intelligence.
I also have got offer from HKU for Engineering ( 3 year program ) with hkd 120,000 entrance scholarship.
I think I’m going to HKU because of the scholarship, and because of its reputation. I also think that HKU grads are respected by employers. However, I feel that I have chosen the wrong major. I suppose that Finance is more lucrative than engineering, especially in HK. Do you guys think I can switch the major later on ?

One more thing, I am still in a dilemma between hku and ntu. in ntu, i get sembcorp scholarship, which covers everything from tuition fees to living expenses. however, the downturn is the university itself, the 4 year curriculum and the six year contract. I hear that most sembcorp scholar can run away from the contract, but idk if i can do so when i graduate. so, any suggestion ?

Thanks^^

Congrats on your offer. That’s awesome

Hi all. From Pakistan. Got an offer for engineering from HKU and most probs going there too.

So, I guess none have anything to share regarding CUHK… :(

hey all!
I applied to HKUST School of Engineering(4year program)
I submitted my application in early dec 2011 and received the offer letter in late feb 2012

@adrianbram: Tech&Mgmt ANd RiskMgmtBusIntell are both good programs and some resources are specifically dedicated to the them. Class sizes are smaller too compared to Engineering in HKU where there are significantly more students - which explains the scholarship thats the trade off.

I’m quite sure you can do a double major in Engineering and Finance at the same time in HKU, though you may have to overload credits, BUT check its syllabus to confirm.

HKU > NTU imho.

Hey, all. Accepted to HKU from India with entrance scholarship. I got Journalism, which was my first choice Still don’t know if I’m attending, though.

Looking for any fellow Indians/people from the subcontinent heading to HKU. PM me please if you are!

@ dancingjuicedesu Hey, Congrats on your offer. Can you share your stats?
