Are you sure HKUST doesn’t give out conditional offer?

Got accepted to HKU FBE, rejected by IBGM (they didn’t say that, but I’m obviously not accepted either).
Don’t think I’m going either way, since I got accepted by McGill!

Actually (haha) ignore my previous post. I got accepted by FBE but I don’t know which major…they didn’t tell me. It was more of a personal email (likely letter-ish) that said “hey, you got accepted to fbe, your offer will come soon.” So did I get accepted by IBGM? Dunno.
Good look everyone else!
HK here I come!

Good luck*. (It was 5 am, don’t judge. :)) I haven’t slept at all, feeling weird now. sorry for the many posts.

you can check HKU process on the application site!

Hey, Happy Chinese New Year everyone although most may not be Chinese haha. I am a newbie here. Hope to get some useful advices for my university application chores haha. My problem here is I have been offered a Business program by NUS and I have been wanting to pursue a Finance career. And the deadline to make my decision is just 2 weeks from now. Well, I applied for HKU, HKUST and CUHK for the Quantitative Finance program, but they are not giving me any notification yet up to this moment. Regarding to the previous posts, it sounds like HK universities are more likely to give late offers. So what are my options here?

Well, I have thought of sending a mail to NUS for a postponement of the deadline and tell the HK unis I have already received an offer. But if I am so unlucky to be informed by the HK unis as late as around July and August, I just don’t seem to believe NUS will wait for me that long.
Do provide me any constructive advice. Sigh. =)

Hey Ksig, welcome. Judging from the fact that you got an offer from NUS, I would venture to say that the HK universities will judge your application favorably too ^^. I would call the HK universities directly since they give out early decisions if you have a deadline. I believe they will ask for proof so have your letter ready. Good luck!

Well this is my first post here, I have applied for BA-economics and finance at HKU as my first choice and applied before 31st Dec 2010. I still haven’t got a call for any interview while I see many others here have. I’ve also sent my source documents. I’m doing GCE A-Levels and predicted AAA. Is an interview call from HKU mandatory ?

@satyajit
I have applied for mechanical engineering and have also not yet received any call. I have 8 A’s in O level and predicted grades of AAA*A in GCE A level.I also have a sat score of 2030.
Seemingly, Hkust is first giving calls to candidates for dual degree program. So hope we get call in this month.

Suppose you get a favourable decision on all three program choices from UST, are you allowed to pick your second or third choice though you have a favourable outcome on the first choice ? Or do they expect you to pick your first choice ?

@ammar what are your marks in AS level ? and are you in CIE or EDEXCEL? which part of India are you from besides?

Hey, is Quantitative Finance a very competitive course? Can anyone give me more info about it? haha

@satyajit
I’m from Pakistan!
And I didn’t take As level. I’m gonna take complete A levels this may/June. I am taking CIE.
And my internal A1 results are AAAA.

@ammar did you send all your source documents? if you have, did you get any confirmation from them upon doing so?

I applied to HKU and sent my documents on Decembe 15, but I also havn’t been contacted for the interview or received any information regarding my admission decision. Does anyone know when they release their admission decision? I hate waiting and checking my email every day.
By the way, I applied for MBBS, which may be more competitive, but do they consider our second and third choice? If they only consider my first choice, I have little chance to get in.

You’ll probably get a call this month. Those that apply in dec get a call in feb or march.

A call or e-mail…

By the way, what were your requirements for MBBS?

I am just curious.

Is University of Toronto good?

Is UT or HKU better?
