HKU's Journalism?

Hi all, I'm a HS student from Indonesia studying in a Canadian school in China, currently a junior. I am really interested in journalism and finding out about the many things that are happening around the world today. I want to become a news broadcaster or foreign correspondent or something like that. I heard so many good things about HKU's Journalism program, exactly how good is it? Also, how competitive is it, compared to the other more popular programs like Business, engineering, Law, Medicine etc.? I won't take the IB/A-Levels but I have took the IGCSEs last year (all students who take their IGCSEs will take their A-lvls at the end of senior year, but I moved), my previous school last year has a British patterned system. However, the school here does treat students like actual students in Canada and offer BC's curriculum. But I see so many other applicants that have their a-lvls/IB marks it makes me wonder if I actually stand a chance. I will take the TOEFL and SAT reasoning test at the end of this year/beginning of the next. I'm also thinking about minoring in a language, particularly French or German, since languages are my 2nd interest. Is that a good idea as well? If I get an A* for Chinese as a 2nd Lang in IGCSE is that enough to fulfill the 2nd lang requirements?

according to journalism, I think CUHK is the best in HK

I’m looking at CUHK for journalism. I’m a Chinese adoptee living in the United States applying as an international student.

Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.87-3.9something unweighted (somewhere around there)
SAT: 2040 CR 640 M 630 W 770
EC: Great ECs - president of a human rights club in my school, published in national news website, interned at online livestreaming network over the summer, and more.
