Hkust 2010 entry

Hi..I have done my A levels in the uk .My grades are AAB with one A in AS..
What are my chances at HKUST and NTU...
please help with some information...

Sorry no idea mate!
did you check online on the website ?!?

Emm…they say that B in each subject is enough to make a competitive application…
well i really hope i get into one of them because I cant afford To go university in the Uk even though i have admission offers from top unis…
where are u frm???what syllabus did u do??

Okay that sounds about right! I mean there min req is pretty average always, but even then with your grades looks like you can make it!! Good Luck!
I got positive response from Imperial too mate! But as you said too expensive and the market is in Asia right now so doesnt make sense to study in US or UK and spend a fortune!
I’m from India, but am studying in Dulwich College Shanghai, the main school is in London, Dulwich College!!
I did ICSCE for 10th boards and got 95.6%, and am doing IB right now and getting 38…
Where you from ?

I am Indian too but I live in England…(NRI)
Imperial is an amazing university…I was so excited when i got an offer after a ■■■■■■■ of an interview but no way i can afford it…
I hear that nowadays that the syllabus back in India is vast…but educational system very different there…too much emphasis on memory power!!I would have died…
I keep on hearing that hkust likes students with diverse backgrounds so fingers crossed…
did you apply for the swire thing to get the scholarship???

Oky… When did you move to England ?!?
Yeah the Indian system is horrifyingly touhg, but not only that it is amazingly competitive! I mean I got 95.6% in the All-India Exams and I was Rank 6 in my School, forget the All-India Rank!! Must have been in the thousands or something… lol
Thats true, HKUST LOVES International students and the ones with a diverse background, but they love the IB students more than no other category!
I didnt actually apply for Scholarship, I got the IB scholarship which is considered for IB students only…

Been a while now but i do visit every year…I am in India now…
couple of questions i wanna ask-
1)does hkust give confirmation of whether your supporting documents have been received?
2)did u have a phone interview and where you informed of your application result by mail or post??

one more thing…I emailed my teacher and she said that my grades would be equivalent to about 35-37 IB points( i guess she is basing it on Uni offers IN ENGLAND)…
would that be sufficient for HKUST???

Okay…

 1. No they dont give confirmation of receipt of additional documents, but you could call them and ask them to track it down
 2. I did not have a phone interview, was selected directly, I received my admission offer by email, although they said they have mailed it to me also, but that I havent received yet…

Yeah 35-37 is good! Should be okay… Although you might not get a full/partial scholarship with that but they are good enough for admission !

Cheers mate…Thanks a lot for the Info…
All i can do now is wait anxiously…fingers crossed!!!

No worries!

Good Luck!!
