HKUST vs NUS

<p>Hi, </p>

<p>I am currently in grad school in France and I have the opportunity to study abroad for one semester in Asia. The two most interesting universities are definitely HK-UST and NUS. </p>

<p>I have only basic knowledge in mandarin (not any in cantonese) and I am basically looking for:
- a place with a good financial/quantitative coursework
- a quick access to the city, Singapore/HK, from the campus
- the possibility to easily travel in the region.</p>

<p>As I have no knowledge at all about SE Asia, I'd apreciate any tip! </p>

<p>hello samialondon both hkust and nus are very close to city and transportation wouldn’t be so much problem as both countries have rather organized public transport system. However as I have been in both countries, I would say Singapore is much cleaner. Both countries have high possibility to easily travel in the region. Such places would be bali, indonesia, thailand and malaysia. Both cities have distinct pros and cons yet are really attractive. </p>
