Hlep, Essay Examples!

As the test day coming, now i do outline instead of writing the total essay. i practised 5 topics today, then found that i don't know anything else to support my points. nothing coming up when an argument is written; i cannot remember stories and news read before when doing the essay! i tried to make a list about famous ppl (should examples all be those famous stories or something happens on celebrities?), but still cannot give enough, strong example in my essay. i always use two examples to support one argument, but the second one cannot even persuade myself sometimes. Is there any list/resourse/short stories or anything else that can help me to come up with enough example?

Well on my essays I always use an example from literature (usually Great Gatsby, Huck Finn, Grapes of Wrath or Scarlet Letter) and then an example from history (which is often simply what I am studying in US History at the time). This seems to work well, I’d imagine better than using examples from pop culture.

I usually read “Google News” during homeroom at my school, lots of easy examples there. The economy, comparing Bush/Obama policies, etc.

I agree with day tripper. Literature and history are great examples for essays.

oh, then should them be well-known? i mean, what if my example is unknown to the essay reader? will it be less convincible?

No, it doesn’t matter, so long as it fits your argument.
