NYU's heroic nurses: Saving patients & babies | HLNtv.com

This interview was broadcast a couple days ago on HLN network (formerly CNN Headline News). It is with 4 nurses of NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC. The power went out, and then the generators all went out at the same time (the fuel line was flooded that connected to the 8 rooftop generators). All of the equipment and elevators stopped working, the lights were out, and the entire 8 story hospital complex had to be quickly evacuated in the middle of the storm in the middle of the night.

The nurses determined that the best way for them to make sure that the ICU babies stayed calm and were able to stay connected to the machines providing their medicines was if each nurse laid on a gurney and kept one baby to their chest, as they were carried down multiple flights of stairs.
