Let's say I want to take the sat II bio and chem exams without even taking the classes..is it possible to do well? I know that some of those review books provide a lot of information. Is that information enough? Are those books so thorough that I don't even have to take the class, and if so, what are best books for the aforementioned subjects?

I've heard barrons overprepares for everything.

It won't get you an 800. Maybe 700+.

Yes, that's what many people on this board do and still score 750+

you have to take a class as well, the book, although it's good, isn't enough by itself

yes defintely barrons for SAT II bio

Who says you can't get an 800?? At least on bio, students have gotten an 800 or 790 without the class, at least not any honors or AP class. If you prep well enough (that includes w/ a textbook in this case) nothing is impossible.

Wait, how can you not take biology or chemistry?w

I did take bio and chem...but I needed to ask a question in this format so i can get an honest opinion about how thorough the book is..

besides, i forgot all of bio and even chem
I have a bad memory

I agree with using a textbook if you forgot the basics.

so physics od u need a class? cause i am taking it senior year so i wont have the class for when i take the test.

Why don't you just take an SAT II for a class you've actually taken...

^Yeah, thats pretty much advisable. Even if you've forgot all of a subject, you have still been at least exposed to it. Besides, physics is not something you can get right away.
