Hm, should I even apply?

I was wondering if I even had a decent enough shot at Penn to spend the time/money on an application, or if it is just too much of a reach.

Thanks, I greatly appreciate it.

Alabama = good chance. Become a black female and apply to engineering and I would say you are 100% in. As of now, your chances are as good as anyone's

no shot....

if you seriously are applying just because, then you have no chance. apply only if you really really want to go to penn.

people get into colleges when they apply just because. the OP probably will not be one of them, but there are people who are that good and that obsessed with prestige.

I really really want to go to Penn, but I don't want to exhaust my resources, energy, and hopes on a school I may have no shot at getting into. There are other schools that I also wouldn't mind going too as well, and so my question is if I have a legitimate chance.

your extracurriculars may appear genericish for your stereotypical caucasian/asian applicant from nymetro area, but i think the fact that you're from a small town in alabama will definately help out. fyi last year, 12 alabamites (if thats even a word) matriculated...

you're film sounds pretty cool. i went ahead and sent in a documentary that i made b/c filmmaking is a pretty big activity for me. you should too if it would help.

If you REALLY want to go to Penn then the question "should I even apply" will be answered.

your stats are fine, your geographic region helps you... you only have to write one extra essay for penn and if you really want penn its an easy essay to write... i second wharton411

more people should apply and be rejected so when I get in I can say I got into the most selective school in the country.

yeah, I would definitely apply if you are seriously interested in Penn. You have as much a shot as anyone else (for the most part). ALABAMA = a big help
