Hm...Was this a bad move?

Ok. I submitted my application to UNC-CH and supplementary materials yesterday. Included in my supplementary folder is a lollipop. Attached to the lollipop is piece of paper stating, "From testimony, the evaluation process is an arduous task, so here is a lollipop to alleviate tension." Umm...it was not at all to indicate that I "kiss @$$" because I DON'T. It was just a complimentary feature (complimentary...get real guy) and I was truthfully concerned about calming tension. Was this a bad move anyway?

I personally think it is not very mature but froom what I hear harvard gets a lot of chocolate.

Some students try so hard it brings tears to my eyes.

try smart not hard :P

money would have been better.

attach a piece of paper "the admission process is so arduous, i bought you an S500(a car)"

I don't know... if I were adcom, I'd think of 1 of 3 things
1) This kid is sucking up
2) This kid is thoughtful
3) Perhaps this kid is just quirky enough in nature to do this

If I were an admissions officer, I would view the applicant as condescending.

this kid is quirky and i like quirky :D

nothing says acceptance like the keys to a new mercedes.

I thought so. Just making sure. Honestly, I didn't actually do it, but I ALMOST did. And from feedback, I'm happy I didn't.

If I were an adcom I'd think someone was trying to poision me.

so true! y didn't i think of that

Nice try, slick. You totally did it.

I don't think it's going to jeopardize your admission, assuming you're a competitive applicant.

Its funny how now you are scared about the consequences.
It proves the rule:
When in doubt, just don't...

Lmao! nah pizzelle, I promise I didn't. But I seriously almost did. I didn't because I was really craving the lollipop

Perhaps he should have given in food cupons

Lollipops creep me out

I've never heard of people sending lollipops with admissions packets, until now.
