So what I know about HMC’s international FA is that they are need-aware. It says on the financial aid main page that they try to meet 100% demonstrated need, but not sure whether it applies to US students only or international students as well. Could someone please clarify this?
Also, why do they require the International Student Certification of Finances form if I already submitted the CSS profile?
Have you read this?

They will meet need for a small # of internationals each year, but not all. I assume they want the form to make sure non-US income & assets are fully reported.
Thank you! Does that mean that they either meet need for a small number of international students and that’s everything, or do they give partial FA for other internationals?
@equality4all I listened in on a live Q&A admissions session on their website, and they said they typically are able to give financial aid to 3 int’l students each year. 3. You’ve really gotta be very qualified to not only get admitted as an int’l but also receive a sizeable FA package.
They don’t meet full-aid from what I’m aware of, though, for those students that receive FA. They don’t give partial FA to other intl’s, only decent sized awards to a select few.
The HMC 2017/18 common data set shows that there were 85 international students out of a total of 844 undergraduates. 29 of the 85 international students received financial aid which averaged $27,362 per student
They probably meet need for 3 students a year, per @CCThunderfin’s comments, and provide an amount with a gap to some others who choose to attend anyway and borrow/fund somehow from their home countries.
