History has been made. I, Righteous_Vigilante, did not do as well as I had hoped on my incredibly hard trigonometry semester exam. I got an 80, which is now 20% of my semester grade. I'm not too hot in that class, considering that I have a condescending, former private school teacher who tells me I'm slow and bound to fail my math SAT. So, my semester average? An 88. I'm not b*tching, though, considering that I can bring it up to an "A" for the year if I try really hard next semester. Only thing I'm concerned about is how this is going to affect my class ranking when unofficial transcripts go out in January...

Anyway, I do not find purple math to be a very helpful site, so if you have any resources to offer that could help me ace math, I'd appreciate it very much.

I can't believe I've brought myself to asking this, because I've never gotten a "B" before. How will this affect my chances at Stanford, Harvard, and Princeton? Please don't make fun of me. I'm just really wanting to know, because this mean math teacher makes me feel like I'm not worth much. I know I can bring my grade up to a 93 at most by the time the year ends, but for some reason, I think this class is too difficult for me to overcome.

Fine, I will resist the urge to pull out my book o' sarcasm to tell you you'll be fine. As long as that teacher doesn't give you a rec, it's all gravy. Mmm, gravy.

snoopyiscool makes sense. And the teacher absolutely abominates me, so I never did plan to see her for any future recommendations. She told me I was going to do poorly on the SATs and that I probably wasn't doing academically well in all my other classes. Does she sound like the type of teacher you'd want to see for a recommendation letter? I think not.

The way Righteous described the teacher, it didn't sound llike they would be the best person to write a glowing letter to the adcoms, regardless of the B.
