Hmm; Aerospace Major & Art Minor?

What d'you think would be the point of pursing a major in Aerospace engineering with a minor in Studio Art?
Is it too weird to work? Would it have any signicance whatsoever, or would they even complement each other?

Just wondering what some of ya'll thoughts are on the matter.

Wow that’s a random combination haha. I don’t know exactly if it will work because they’re in two different schools and they’re so different from one another. Try looking at the course descriptions at the school you’re going to (or potential schools if you’re still not in college). I don’t know if they’ll complement each other because the design in engineering is basically drafting while the design in art is something else.

Well the studio art probably wouldn’t help you in any way, shape for form when it comes to your career, but you definitely should do it if you want to and are interested in studio art.

that would be cool if you could do it…u’d be the ‘link’ between two groups of people that want almost nothing to do with each other, lol ; )

Just be aware that the aerospace program at your school is probably going to load up completely full with classes for all four years. So if you want to graduate in four years, you’ll need to spend extra money to take more units or do summer school.

Really? I would’ve thought that an Art minor would’ve made me a better designer. Hmm, ah well. i’m still really interested in Studio Art; besides it’s better than my original idea of minoring in linguistics or french.

And I’m participating in the 3-2 program at my school, so I already have to spend a total of five years, although I’m trying to condense it all into aat least four and a half.

Studio art won’t make you a better engineer, except perhaps it may help you with freehand sketches. That’s always helpful in conveying your ideas to other people.

I really doubt you will be able to squeeze a 3-2 program into 4.5 years unless you have a ton of advanced credit. Once you get into the part where you take grad classes, its a whole new ballgame.

Oh I know, I was just hoping that I could. Just looking into everything and the way these classes are falling…I’ve got my work cut out for me.

Although it’s going to look pretty funny when I’ll be taking classes like Compressible Dynamics, Structural Vibrations, 3-D Design, and Still-Life Oil Painting. All in the same quarter xD
