hmm...*breaks into whiny mode* WHY ME, WHY ME, WHHHYYY MMMEEEE???!!!!!

Exeters whiners all graduate this year. It's obvious they needed to fill the need for more whiners. It's all about matriculating a well rounded class and you fit a need of exeters.

off topic, but I can't get beyond "you could have wrote"...

:D

I'd add the same about the original post. Incredible that folks who write this are considered among the elite boarding school candidates.

It was even worse than "You could have wrote.."

Actual phrase: "You could of wrote"

This thread should be closed. This guy doesn't need any more attention.

Actually, I have the feeling that's a big part of why I was accepted. I'm not as outstanding as a bunch of other people, but I'm really open-minded, or something.

At least, that's what they said.

ok if they didnt think u could do well they wouldnt have accepted u...and why r u telling all of this to us on some internet blog? what can we do about it?

just go to exeter and suck it up.
sorry for sounding jaded and cynical.
but honestly, if you got it, something
about you had to be good enough.
so please stop this somewhat obnoxious
self-loathing and write some angst-ridden
poetry.

WAIT I'm really confused :( If you don't want to go to Exeter and don't think you will be happy and succeed their, WHY did you apply?

Did you apply or get accepted anywhere else that might be a better match?

Look, this is the real world. I'm sorry if I'm not a sophisticated teen who's ready and chipperly happy to be off in boarding school. I'm a regular person who's actually capable of being SCARED. Oh holy crud, shoot me now, there i said it. Yes I'm not a stoic little munchkin who sings the I'M GOING TO EXETER song, and no, I'm not looking for attention.

All I wanted was some honest opinions about why I got in. So instead of being obnoxious and stuck up, maybe you should stick to the GO AWAY IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT. Don't comment on me being a whiny idiot who's seeking attention. Apparently boarding people like to be complete, dithering cynics who can't even comprehend the IF YOU HAVE NOTHING HELFUL TO SAY, DON'T SAY IT. Yes, that's right, the rule even kind 5 yr olds know. Amazing isn't it?

You poor. pathetic critics love to jump on others who show a weakness towards things or people who obviously are better off than you. (Remember Vaizard?) I have no clue as to why you have to be so cruel to others. Maybe it's because you're angry that you didn't get into the school you wanted while others did, but either way-i feel the pathetic scorn that oozes out of your comments, and um yeah. It's quite disturbingly sad.

No one was trying to be mean to you. However, in a time when so many others would give their right arm to have an acceptance you were - in your own words - whining about it.

As everyone has said...CLEARLY, the admissions office saw something special in you. You would not have been admitted if they didn't. As has been said a gazillion times here, Exeter (and ASDHC, etc) could all fill their classes with 99% SSAT, amazing athletes/muscians. Those kids get turned down every day because they are building a CLASS. We don't know you, and you told us that you suck (which I'm sure is not true) so it is hard for us to say WHY you were accepted, but you were. You are probably just a really good kid that they just really liked.

There have been other threads about second thoughts. We all understand that - we ALL have them!

Honestly, I think had you posted in a different "tone" yourself you may have gotten more sympathetic replies.

wow. the guy who started this thread is now angry that people chime in. my dad says: "stay on the porch if you dont want to run with the big dogs."

Yeah, i've noticed that people on here like to jump on little things and criticize to no end.

narcissa, i have to disagree with you a bit. i started out here with a "chances" thread asking if i had the stuff to get into a top bs. people were helpful but some were pretty hard on me. i did not like it but knew that i opened up the can of worms and invited people into my life. the originator of this thread aired his doubts about surviving exeter. some people are sympathetic but others are not. kinda how it goes here. i say stay silent unless you can handle critical people.

That was quite a scene. I had second thoughts about BS but presented them quite differently. Take a look at the thread
Everything is Over - Having Second Thoughts

The difference is crystal clear. If you're worried don't yell and use caps. Don't complain that you got in. Don't backlash at anybody either.
You probably got in because you were diverse. A kid from Texas is good in a community and you should be very thankful you got in, no bulldinky about you complaining about getting in. If you don't want to go, don't. If you do, do. Examine yourself and make a wise decision.

Don't stereotype people on this board either for being snobby, mean individuals because they are truly not. Stimilus, reaction my good boy.

The Development Office was able to analyze your parent's and grandparent's networth from information available on the internet. They determined that you and your family are potential prospects for beefing up their already astronomical endowment. Do you have oil under your backyard?

laxcoach - what? :P

He is being funny, lol. But let this thread drop like others have said.

Its a clever joke.

Vinte segundos.

Dude. I'm not a dude. Seriously. Not cool. And sure let the thread drop. Just don't plague me with awful comments about me ok? Last thing anyone needs are insults coming from anonymous figures from the internet.

Ah, and nope not phenomally wealthy oil tycoon. Unfortunately. I'm on financial aid, so THAT AIN'T IT EITHER. Although it'd be nice if Texas could cough up some oil for me...please?
