how do college adcoms know that you are lying in your app?

<p>Imagine somebody who has read through several thousand applications. After a while, they begin to pick up on "red flags". They can certainly tell if you did not write the essay yourself because they know how high school students write (and it is not like an adult writes). They notice things that look unusual or inconsistent. If they do, they call your GC. If you lied, it is over.</p>
