Ok, because I'm doing PSEO, I haven't been to my high school yet this year. However, the otherday I walked in to talk to my connections teacher and get some info and what not... anyway, I see, like, these 5 feet tall (barely) kids walking around... I think: "Hmm... it's alittle early for elementary/middle school kids to be having field trips here, isn't it?"

BUT WAIT!

Then I see their books! They're freshmen!

Yes, I know that people usually grow alot from freshman year to senior year, but I definitely don't remember many people in my grade being that short...

We've got a freshman on our cross country team who is 4'9, one who's 4'11," and another one that's about 5'1." Average in my year was about 5'6"-5'8."

They're not getting shorter, you're just getting older. Trust an ole dinasour like me.

I was at the local community college on registration day last week. The incoming 1st year students look more like hs sophomores and juniors than recent hs graduates. They seemed so young and small!

At my school the freshmen are either really small (below 5'0" ) or they are really tall (over 6'0"), some of them you can't even tell they are freshmen.

it's kind of scary...there are a number of freshman girls who are significantly shorter than me (I'm 5'). It's kind of nice though...I have power. :)

omg. i was just ranting about this the other day!

they are TINY TINY TINY TINY TINY!!!!!!! it's ridiculous! i know for a fact that i was a "normal" kid freshman year, and I was 5'9. I'm 6'0 now. Our class average was probably 5'7 or 5'8....well, I look at this class of freshman and I swear some of them look like they're 8 years old, but then they open thier mouth and they have that slack-jawed, deep "puberty voice". They mumble everything.

but then some of them have like full facial hair and are taller than i am. it's not that they're short this year so much as they're mixed. there are probably 4'8 boys and 6'3 boys, ranging from looking like they're in 6th grade to looking like they're college freshmen.

Well, at my school we do have a freshman who is 6'4" - we were all kinda like "wow" for a while over that. My school is 7th-8th, plus high school. Seriously, I have been 5'3" forever - since about 5th grade (I was tall back then...ah, those were the days). Yet, by 7th grade I was middle-ish, and by freshman year considered shorter. I'm 5'3.5" and the 7th graders are like, 4'3". I'm always so shocked. I knew I had been tall, but the difference wasn't that big back then...

I'm in my 4th year in college (though I'm definitely going to be a super-senior, long story). It's disturbing how young all the first years look... and to think that by the time I graduate, there'll be people 6 years younger than me in college.

hehehe they are so little! They do look as if they've just come for a field trip! One time, my friend (jokingly) stuffed this little tiny boy into his bag and it was soo funny.. and the boy was like "let me go! please!" with his whiny, girly voice! (he didn't get hurt, don't worry)

But I remember when I was freshman, I was always like, 'am I gonna be that tall when I'm a junior/senior? They are sooo tall!!'
And now, here I am.. very tall..
