hmm...

What do you think of taking AP Physics senior year without having taken Physics 1??

I don't really want to be in a class of underclassmen (ok, they'll be upperclassmen next year but still...) & I've already taken BC Calc sophomore yr (I think that overlaps somewhat w/ physics?)

The main reason I'm hesitating is that I'm also planning on taking AP Chem (which is notoriously hard at my school) & Calc 3 (at a local college)

I don't want to overstress myself but then again I get really frustrated in classes that are too easy....

I have a couple of friends, who are doing it this year. I don't know about the rigor of your AP Physics class, but while both of them claim that it's a great experience, they do have to pull a lot of work just to scrape by B's.

Ask around the current AP Physics class to see what its like. Look for people who have skipped Physics 1 to take it.

Thanks for the advice

I think there is one girl who's doing it right now but it's definitely not a common thing at my school b/c I had to convince my counselor to even let me consider doing it...

But I'll definitely try to find her & see what she thinks.

I'm taking AP physics B without a prior physics course, and it isn't too bad. Your calculus will definitely help you out, and a fair amount of it will actually tie in with your AP chem.

Do you know who will be teaching the course? Why not talk directly to them? They know your school's curriculum better than anyone here.
