Hmm...

Soon after my daughter was admitted to UT we started receiving mail from the private dorm, Castilian. Not long after that, Dobbie, another private dorm, started sending us stuff too. And then a credit union near UT sent us info about opening up an account . Yesterday, an Austin realtor mailed us info about a $79,000 condo and a whole lot more condos for sale in Austin.

I don't live in Austin so I don't know how these establishments get a hold of our personal info. Has anyone received similar mailings from these places?

I think they purchased a mailing list from UT.

It happens in all the college towns, I still get stuff on Gainesville, Florida real estate too. The colleges give/sell the information.

I hope this is not true because I hate junk mail, & the thought of having my private info sold to the world.

They do it, everyone gets the letters, but I think UT knows who to and who not to sell the info to. I mean some of it isn't terrible info. However, DO NOT live at castillian.

Thank you foxhox, my daughter got her contract not long ago, plenty of on campus housing is still available. I think they have wood flooring inside the rooms but I would like to confirm with those who live on campus. We are trying to stay away from carpet if possible.

Thanks

There is no carpet in any of the student rooms.

To UTHousing,

Thanks!!
