hmmm...still confused

So for everyone who has gotten the 100 % Bright Futures deal (which I'm sure is most of you smart Gators), how are you going to pay for textbooks? For instance, Bright Futures gives you some money for textbooks, but how do you know it is available to use with a swipe of your Gator1 card? Is there something you should due to make sure these funds are available? Also, what if you want more funds placed into buying textbooks? Any information would be greatly appreciated as I am unfortunately clueless.

The bookstore manager told me that it is automatic. My daughter just swipes her card for her books and the system knows that she has 100% bright futures. Hope he is right. I believe that if you want more money in the bookstore account then you have to transfer it there. If you fill out an EFT form online so you can have your bright futures leftover funds transfered automatically to your checking account. You can then transfer some of that back to your bookstore or declining balance account.

> How will I receive my Florida Bright Futures Scholarship award?

At the beginning of each semester the Florida Department of Education will forward funds to the university. As soon as the University has determined the credit hours for which you were enrolled at the end of the drop/add period, the funds will be deposited directly into your checking account if you have signed up for direct deposit; or you will be mailed a check for the amount of your award minus tuition fees and other money owed the university.

> How does textbook deferment work at UF and what do I need to do to receive a textbook deferment at the UF bookstore?

The UF Bookstore offers text book deferments to students who are receiving a
predetermined amount of financial aid each semester. The UF Bookstore
establishes an amount of credit that you can use to purchase books and
supplies. These charges are placed on your UF accounts receivable account
and are deducted from your financial aid when your aid is disbursed. There
is no special application for a bookstore deferment. If you are eligible for
a textbook deferment, your approval will be indicated on the "View Course
Textbook Requirements" page through "ISIS" at http://www.isis.ufl.edu/ .
