I have choice between doing the IB Diploma or taking this academy class that requires me to go to another school during the day to take one (Professional Graphics Studio) class that I'm really interested in. The thing is that I can't do that and the IB Diploma at the same time due to scheduling conflicts. So is the IB Program worth it? Or do you think I should take the graphics studio class?

It depends in a way on your college goals. If you see yourself as an artist, and the class that you’re taking is vetted/competitive and is highly regarded in the professional community then it may be the right thing to do – especially if you thrive and are successful. If the class is anything less than that then giving up on the opportunity for the IB seems like a poor tradeoff. The IB is well regarded by selective colleges. It is a proven, rigorous program that can give you a significant advantage in your eventual college applications.

Well the things is I’m pretty sure I don’t want to be an artist when i grow up, I’m just really interested in the class

IB. It’s so worth it. I absolutely love it; you’ll find yourself questioning your decision at 2 in the morning sometimes, but it’s such a great, holistic way of learning. At my school, the IBers are like a tight-knit family, so you end up becoming friends with people you wouldn’t have thought otherwise could be your friends.
