I'm trying to decide between Kenyon and Connecticut College. I'm having a tough time making my decision. I'll be majoring in Biology, so research and those types of opportunities are important to me. I'll also be either minoring or double majoring in Spanish Language, and I'll be Premed. I'm also highly considering doing sailing or crew, we'll see, though. Which do you think would be the best fit?

well if you’re going to sail, conn college would be a no brainer.

Kenyon only had an informal sailing club and no crew club a few years ago…situation might have changed but I doubt it.

What about academically? I’m not married to the sports or anything…

I was a molecular biology major and was able to start my own research project in a biology lab the 2nd semester of my frosh year. Kenyon will give you a strong prep for med or other grad programs. The Spanish program was pretty good from what I know…I chose to take Arabic and found it to be challenging, but did learn a good amount.

i’d venture to say that both schools are fairly equal academically…have you looked at the research interests of the bio faculty to see if anything in particular interests you for when you become involved in their labs?

MolBio - Yea, the super strong science and language departments are swaying my decision towards kenyon.

husk - No I haven’t, but that’s a good idea… I’m going to look - thanks!
