Hmmmm...Classes?

I am freshman Math major at Revelle and was wondering about my classes. I'm trying to plan them out and right now my schedule is as follows:

LTSP2B - Pita
MATH31AH - Eggers
ANTH23 - Pedersen
PSYC60 - Parris

To me this seems like a challenging yet manageable schedule.

Also, will having 3 classes back to back be a problem? This ensures that on Tuesdays and Thursdays I am almost completely free.

Thanks!

PSYC 60 and ANTH 23 are both jokes. the workload for both will probably add up to your calculus class.

As for the timing, it’s not really an issue of how many classes you have together, but where they’re located. Ten minutes can only get you from Center–>York (short distance, but uphill) or HSS–>WLH (long downhill) … walks longer than that might require a bike.

Well that is very reassuring!

Hmmm the first class is in CENTR and the second is at APM and the third is back at CENTR. Would that be an annoyance to walk if the classes were back to back?

no, unless you hate walking, that’s fine. you probably just won’t have much time for bathroom breaks in between. center to apm is a pretty uphill walk, but still perfectly manageable. i’m a girl and i estimate for me it would take 5-7 minutes to make it from center to apm.

I was told by a friend that math 31ah is a really challenging, difficult course. hope you love your math, because all my friend did was take calc bc in senior year and she said most of the material was lost on her and she felt out of place, whereas a lot of her classmates seemed fit for the rigor and content of the course. sounds to me like math was a pretty serious hobby for a lot of those people, so even if you excelled in high school math classes you may still be in for a surprise. you did say you’re a math major though, and i’m certainly not telling you to drop the class. just giving you a heads up of what to mentally prepare for.

are you taking ltsp for letter grade? you may want to switch to p/np if you care about your gpa and want to focus on your major course. with math and the other two courses, you’ll find the busywork and daily grind of ltsp very tiring (unless you love spanish lit). language classes are notorious for giving a lot of homework on a daily basis and requiring attendance as part of your grade, so while it may not be too hard, it’ll be a very time-consuming class. i did that with my foreign lit class and it took off a lot of unnecessary pressure so i could focus on my science classes instead of worrying about my lit grade. but see if that’s compatible with revelle GE reqs because for ERC i was allowed to take it p/np.

@astrina

Now now astrina. Just because you think a class is easy doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a joke. You know better than that.
