hmmmm... how should i set up my course schedule at this point?

i'm currently a freshman, but i'm pretty sure none of the classes i'm taking are pertinent to my pre-med requirements (except for english). i plan on majoring in IR or English while taking my required pre med courses. but i feel like i shouldve taken chem this semester. what should i do next semester?

i mean, so assuming these are the standard courses:

* A year of Chemistry along with the appropriate laboratory courses
* A year of Organic Chemistry along with laboratory courses
* A year of Biology along with laboratory courses
* A year of Physics along with laboratory courses
* A year of English
* A year of Calculus or other advanced math classes, including Statistics

should i take the second semester of chemistry? wouldnt i be missing out though? also, since chem is pretty much a prereq for orgo, would i be able to take it next year with a semester of chem? argh.

also, i placed into calc ii on my placement exams, but i'll be taking it next semester. how far should i go in math?

advice would be appreciated. i hope i haven't ****ed myself over.

thanks

Start your pre-reqs now. Take either or both bio and chem (take respective labs concurrently or over the summer) during the spring semester. When you come back to school next fall finish the 2nd semester of bio and chem before starting organic in the spring of 2010. Or take the 2nd part of chem and bio over the summer so you can start organic next fall. Your choice.

Um as far as math on the MCAT goes, it’s simply algebra really even for the physics section. I recommend Stat instead unless you have AP credit b.c genetics is mush easier b.c of it. Beyond Calc I there is no reason to go further. I stupidly took and multi-variable and diff eq and they were nothing more than a pain in the @$$… good luck
