hmmmmmm... molecular or ecology?

it is really tempting to take ecology because it looks like problems assigned to a first grader, but i heard it has a harsher curve.

molecular, on the other hand, looks really hard, but sounds way cooler and more prestigious.

which one should i take?

if you think ecology is easier take ecology. It really doesn't matter. Biology-M does not look any more prestigious than Biology-E...

can i fill in both sections and then mark the one i felt i did better on?

i really need an answer.

I think you're only supposed to pick one.

What I'm doing is just looking to see which one is easier for me (on the day). Though, I have a feeling I'll be taking M, not E, since I don't care a/b niches and communities and all that as much as I do on the smaller level.

I went into the test right after taking the AP bio exam last year and was set on taking molecular bio. When I looked through both the E and M parts--I realized that the ecology part seemed much easier-so i did that one. Just make sure you write down the right form--i've heard of a lot of people that switched mid-way and were unpleasantly shocked after they received their scores in the mail. Historically, however, people score higher on M--I scored pretty high on the E...it's ultimately whatever you feel more comfortable with.

thanks for the replies. just to clarify, am i allowed to fill out the answers to both sections and then mark the section i felt better on? will the scoring machine ignore the section that i did not mark?

you can answer both section, but only fill in one.
I'm leaning towards M.

A friend told me to skim the parts before doing them.

Molecular covers more in-depth materials, but sometimes Ecology has really tricky labs. So if you skim it and see obscure labs in the ecology section, just do molecular.

The rumor around our school is that Molecular is "for the smart people" and that it looks better to colleges.

is the curve for ecology easier?
molecular seems like the curve is harsher? but not sure

I took molecular because my biology teacher focuses more on molecular biology and I got a decent score. I suggest you take what you actually spent time learning, not the one that seems easy.

for biology is it just assumed you are taking ecology if you do 60-80 or molecular for 81-100 or do you have to fill some sort of bubble out?

To baseballnerd: you have to fill in a bubble code at the top of the page which lets the machine know which test you are taking.
