Prestigious Princeton University, in New Jersey, will be the next stop for Brampton's Caroline Park in her hockey and education career.

Park, who is due to graduate from St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in the spring is planning to combine the difficult test of taking pre-law at one of the U.S.'s top universities, while also playing for the Tigers women's hockey team.

"It is a little intimidating knowing you are going to school with some of the brightest minds in the world,'' she said of the challenge ahead of her.

Park, who is also fluent in French and Korean, is an honour student in the Extended French program at Aquinas. She has always done well in school and has been on the honour roll every year since Grade 6 winning numerous academic awards. Last year she finished with a 92 per cent average. She has also managed to combine her studies with hockey and some acting.

Right now she is in second season with the Mississauga Chiefs junior hockey team where she is the assistant captain. She has acted for about three years, appearing in commercials and has recurring roles on two Canadian television shows, Degrassi: The Next Generation on CTV and Naturally Sadie on the Family Channel.

Park, a 17-year-old, said she has dreamed about going to an Ivy League school and had been recruited by Harvard, Dartmouth and Cornell, as well as Princeton.

"When I went to Princeton I knew it was the place for me,'' said Park of her recruiting visit to the school located about midway between New York City and Philadelphia.

Besides its high academic standards Princeton is a good place for a female hockey player. The Tigers won the 2006 Ivy League title under head coach Jeff Kampersal, a Princeton graduate and a 1988 New York Islanders draft pick.

The Tigers also recruit heavily in Canada with nine Canadians on the roster this season.
