Hockey

I am from southern california, not a hotbed for ice hockey. I am passionate about the game and would love to play at Div 111. I have met with some NESCAC coaches and sent them tape. Any other ideas of how to get myself better known since it is difficult for coaches to assess play on the left coast. My first goal is obviously to get accepted understanding that I am not going to be one of the coaches admission picks. I also felt that hockey might enhance my chances but I need to highlight myself without becoming annoying

Can you dangle? check out colby and bowdoin man

kinda sad when you have nothing better to do than f--k off on CC, man

Have your coach in So Cali contact the NESCAC coaches on your behalf.
They can talk about your hockey abilities and you will need to sell them on your academics. It is very hard to play ice hockey in the NESCAC league unless you are recruited. Coaches do recruit, however, from the "leftcoast".
My son's NESCAC team has a number of kids from Alberta, one of Florida.
They were recruited based on their prep school or junior hockey coach's recommendation

Hamilton runs a JV team too, so you may be able to participate at that level.
In my experience Hamilton overrecruits and many "recruits" even end up on the JV squad--happened to one of my son's friends.

I think that those days are past -- apparently the Hamilton JV team is gone and Hamilton no longer over recruits.
