Hodson Scholarship ??

I received the Hodson Scholarship and I wanted to know more about it through CC since I will not be able to attend SOHOP luncheon this coming 14th.

So I was wondering what else the school offers other than the money. I mean $114,000 is really big money and I'm really excited about this, but just wanted to know what else this entails.
For example, as I am interested in doing undergrad research, does the school help the scholars to do their research or intern? Or, do they provide something like faculty mentor program??

Also, if there's something else about this scholarship that you think is important, please let me know!

Thanks!

I believe it only goes toward tuition–but it is highly prestigious. Hopkins offers very few merit scholarships–and I believe only about 20 Hodson’s a year. There are @1250 in a class.

There are, however, other sources for research funding. There are Provost’s research awards, and numerous others. There is also the Woodrow Wilson Research Fellowship. I assume you did not get one (I don’t know if you applied) for Freshman year but you have another chance to apply for next year. My son got a Woodrow Wilson for his last 3 years and it paid him $7,500 to support his research–which paid for a lot of traveling.
