<p>Does anyone find it odd that the scholarship notification came before the actual offer of admission?</p>
<p>Haha I didn’t even think of that. I guess they wanted to give you extra time to consider Hopkins? I didn’t even think about going to Hopkins until I was notified I was a Hodson scholar and a finalist for another engineering scholarship and went to visit campus. The Hodson is a great scholarship, and I encourage anyone who’s even remotely thinking about Hopkisn to go visit campus if you can!</p>
<p>So if I did not receive an email, I suppose I should assume that I did not receive the scholarship? I feel awful. I was hoping. Well, congrats you guys on your scholarships! It’s a really big deal, and that’s just fantastic. Go to Hopkins!</p>
<p>Is it sent by hard copy mail? or by e-mail? If I didn’t receive an e-mail by now does that mean i didn’t get it? :(</p>
<p>I received it by email yesterday, along with an official admissions acceptance. Bear in mind that this scholarship is given to (as it said in the email) 58/more than 19000 apps, so not receiving one is not an indication of whether you’ll be accepted or not.</p>
<p>I was accepted under early decision. So I guess I didn’t get the hodson? 
or do they inform early decision students at a different time.</p>

This year the Admissions Committee and Scholarship selection committees decided to inform winners of the Hodson Trust and Westgate Scholarship one week in advance of the official release of decisions. We are extremely excited to award these scholarships, and therefore decided to release the news when it was finalized. Since these students are also invited to special visit programs we wanted to provide them a bit of extra time to make arrangements to visit the Homewood campus.</p>

Yes, unfortunately if you did not receive an e-mail earlier this week then it does mean you were not chosen for the Hodson Trust of Westgate scholarship. However, it is important to note that just under 70 students are selected in total for these extremely limited awards. There are still extensive financial aid awards and grants that will be offered when we release decisions on March 29.</p>
