Hodson Trust Scholarship

any one else get this?

Since I don't have an ISIS ID, how do I find out

i got an email for it

Yeah, I received it too. I'm really happy. Are you going to the reception?

This is extremely rare and very hard to get at Hopkins. I believe it is their highest honor for incoming freshmen. I believe all students are considered for it but the admissions officers decide who are the recipients of it.

The Hodson Trust Scholarship
"Hodson Trust Scholarships (~$24,000 per year) are offered to approximately 20 first-year students. This highly competitive merit-based scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years of undergraduate study if the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA.

Students selected as Hodson Trust Scholars have demonstrated excellence in their curriculum, extraordinary intellectual curiosity, academic inquisitiveness, and extensive leadership in high school and community activities. All accepted freshman applicants are considered for this scholarship. No additional application or nomination is required. Recipients are notified along with their acceptance to the university in April."

Congratulations! Definitely come check out Hopkins during the open house and come to the reception

do you think this award would translate to HYP acceptance?

No. All school decisions operate independent of each other.

You received an email for this? So does that mean:

no email = no scholarship?

I don't think (?) that they notify of Hodson's via email - there will be a letter in your admissions packet, or you might be able to see it on ISIS if they've inputted them already.

yeah the packet came in today (a huge thing sticking out of the tiny little mailbox of mine = EPIC!). it had the financial aid summary and if you got scholarship, then that too. I didn't get Hodson Trust, but I got a letter for Bloomberg scholarship. I didn't get an email before. In all case, mails are coming so the definitive answer would be in the admission packet.

What about ED students? How do they find out if they got one of the merit scholarships?

I've got one too, but they haven't notified me regarding need-based aid (and I definitely qualify for it). Does anyone know if they will still be sending out info regarding need-based or will I not get anything else now (they wrote in the financial aid letter that I would only have an expected contribution of 5k or something, but haven't been given any figures regarding additional aid).
