Yeah it took a couple of days to get the package but I got into honors too with the same amount!
Accepted for Fall. From Florida
Stats: 3.5 UW GPA
4.3 W GPA
1210 SAT
Amazing Recommendation Letters & Counselor Letters.
My Essay was the main factor which got me in.
Got a $17,000 in Scholarship and another $6,000 in Pell Grant.
So far $23,000.
What said was this is not the final amount of money. This does not include Need-Based Financial Aid.
RD Accepted
24k/year presidential
I got Accepted with $26k and honors! I got PA acceptance letter in the mail as well. Very excited… Anyone else receives the PA specific acceptance letter?
I didn’t apply EA but got accepted today! Haven’t gotten home yet, and found out on the portal. Hoping my financial aid package comes in soon - Hofstra needs to offer a lot of money for me to consider! Applied with a 3.35 GPA (UW) and didn’t submit scores. Strong recommendations and essays are what I think got me accepted. Good luck to anyone who is still waiting!
I applied through a select Candidate application on the 26th of January and is suppose to hear back from them mid to late February. Hopefully I’ll get in but if not, GSU is still an option. Congrats to everyone who got in!
My S was accepted today. With Presidential scholarship for $25k. Merit will come in March.
Got my acceptance letter in the mail today, and only saw a scholarship for $7K. I’m assuming once I send more FAFSA info and they see how much need-based aid I need, they’ll offer me way more. If it’s just the 7K for aid, Hofstra is immediately out.
@TheBeautifulDuo I applied in early December 2016, and contacted my admissions counselor due to a glitch in my portal around early January. He told me that I’d hear back from them in early/mid February, yet I heard back earlier! Good luck on your acceptance!
@adam2k17 Thank you! It’s so weird that you said that because I just checked my admissions status today and it turns out that I had gotten accepted! I’m so excited! I don’t know if I am getting a scholarship or not but we’ll see.
@TheBeautifulDuo Well congrats! It seems like it’s so random, huh? It caught me totally off guard when I saw mine! Hofstra was a little bit of a reach for me, so you may get more than 7K if Hofstra wasn’t a reach!
@adam2k17 Hopefully, but Out of state tuition is expensive so I bet the scholarship not gonna cover half of the it. Now do I find out if I get the scholarship on my portal or in the mail?
@TheBeautifulDuo Hofstra is a private school…there is no difference between in state and out of state tuition.
Applied EA to Hofstra and accepted into the Zarb School of Business. I received a 22k scholarship with more financial aid on the way. Usually admitted students receive their merit aid notification by mail, but anything else is probably on the MyHofstra portal. Had a 1210 SAT and 3.9 UW GPA. I am from Georgia as well. One thing that took me by surprise was how expensive Hofstra is. LOL
Anyone else have your Presidental scholarship go up? Now his online is saying $29,000 which we are loving. Also he was invited into the Honors program so not sure if that is the reason for increase.
can you share your stats?
@CollegehopefulAP Yeah Hofstra is very expensive. I can’t afford it but I really want to go
DD has been accepted to the Honors college - Presidential of $26K with an additional $4K award.
The cost of housing (R&B) is what is now going to be the major factor as its on the very high side of average due to the location. DD visited this past weekend, she is still in NYC and says she “LOVED” it, this is where she wants to go. We are still waiting to hear from her “dream school” Berkeley but she is now leaning heavily towards Hofstra regardless.
@MamacatTX Can you please share the stats?
