Hello,
I applied to Hofstra University and got my acceptance letter today. I am being awarded a $25,000 presidential scholarship and I am interested in Biochemistry. I also applied to other schools such as MIT, Harvard, Stanford etc. I have a 4.0 GPA and got a 1900 in SAT and 30 in my ACT but I participated in a Research Program at my local Children's Hospital. Originally I was thinking go Hofstra as a back up but now I am not sure. I like the school although I've never visited. I am not sure what to do now, I was planning on going for Accepted Student day but if I have to pay for the plane ticket I won't be able to. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on this and if its a good choice. I like to be active and I read comic books, the city is something I'll want to explore so if anyone can tell me about Hofstra from a student's or parent with a child at the school perspective it will be greatly appreciated.

I currently attend Hofstra and would definitely recommend visiting if you’re able to. The first time I visited when applying was for an Accepted Students day and that’s really where I fell in love with the campus. You can’t really know a place until you see it firsthand I think, especially when you could potentially be spending the next four years of your life here. It’s worth the visit though, maybe you can even visit NYC when you do!
