<p>So, for those who applied EA, tomorrow is the day we receive our admission decision notifications! Everyone should post their student profiles here. I'll start with myself.</p>
<p>Applied on 10/8
Student from nationally-ranked public high school in NJ
Major: International Business
2.8 GPA W, 2.7 UW (however, upward trend from sophomore to junior year)
2000 SAT (660 CR, 550 M, 790 W)
Decent ECs
Great essay w/ a very compelling story
URM (African-American)</p>
<p>Hofstra isn't among my top choices, but I still hold it to a high regard. I'm hoping for good news after suffering a recent rejection! Good luck to all :)</p>
<p>-Applied 11/11
-Switched from top private school to being homeschooled sophomore year (Midwest)
-Majors: Mathematical economics & math, pre law
-3.4 GPA unweighted, but I had a medical fiasco freshman year which drags my cumulate GPA down. Last 3 years cum. GPA = 3.87
-30 ACT(33 superscored)
-awful EC’s but I’ve taken a bunch of extra classes/academic things to Make up for that
-good essay (my medical struggle)
-URM (Carribean/Caucasian mixed)
-standouts- applying for LEAP and pre law studies, entering as a sophomore with Maximum amount of college credits allowed</p>
<p>Acceptance status: I was accepted yesterday! </p>
<p>Congrats to you both! But I can’t log in to my portal for some dumb reason. Every time I attempt to log in, it says my account is disabled. What gives?</p>
<p>-Applied 10/25

-Majors: Computer Science, Finance
-3.1 UW GPA, 4.7 W (many AP’s, might be a different scale in Florida)
-27 ACT
-One club officer position but in many clubs, Volunteer list, Lacrosse and Football throughout High School
-I think my essay way pretty good, described how I hit rock bottom academically and veered towards the right direction by cutting out the bad things out of my life.
-No URM (WASP)
-standouts- Selective Candidate application</p>
<p>Application Status - Accepted w/ Scholarship!</p>
<p>Got a scholarship. I’m natalie.

<p>If I haven’t received anything yet, does that likely mean that I will be deferred/rejected? My portal changed on Friday saying a decision has been made and it’s been mailed, and I still haven’t gotten anything.</p>
<p>My son applied early action 1 and all materials were submitted by November 14. The admissions department didn’t notice that the sat scores were included on the high school transcript so his application sat in a folder pending receipt of these scores. He was hoping to receive an answer by December 15 but now he has to wait for the second round. Ved disappointing</p>
<p>I don’t think many schools accept SAT scores on a transcript even if they see them there. If your son asked that his SAT be considered you’ll have to send scores via college board. That’s how it works with pretty much any college.</p>
<p>They acknowledged receipt of the scores once I pointed out where they were. His guidance councellor had me send college board scores to other schools but apparently Hofstra and others like Boston university will accept them directly from the school </p>
<p>i still havent sent fafsa or CSS. and i applied to the 4+4 program but they told me they still have to email my my application for that. I got accepted into Hofstra but no scholarships? Is it because i didn’t send FAFSA yet?</p>
<p>I am applying to these universities:
Hofstra University for a business major
They all have min. Toefl score requirement of 79/80
But I got 78
So will I get a straight rejection? Or like 1 or 2 points don’t matter? And my stats are that I’m a homeschooling student, was there in high school for 10 years(English medium obviously) and I’m a non- aid applicant.
Did a lot of interns and all, I’m a soccer state player, given state exams, Trinity’s etc. And I’m an online author and currently working in a organisation to stop basically crime against women and all.
so what are my chances? Are they good or no hope?
Please help anyone would be a great favour!
@HofstraRep and everyone thanks in advance!</p>
Hi there @Shlok27, have you been in touch with your admission counselor? They’ll be able to talk you through the process and it’s always a good idea to reach out and get to know them! You can find them here (international counselors are in the lower right corner) http://www.hofstra.edu/admission/adm_counselors_map.html
@talgirl, admission to Honors College is noted in the acceptance letter, yes. If you didn’t note an interest in Honors College it is still possible to apply after your first semester here. For more info please check out our website! http://www.hofstra.edu/Academics/Colleges/HUHC/huhc_apply.html
