I’ve been accepted to Hofstra University with their provost scholarship that pretty much cut my tuition in half. My target area is NYC so when I saw Hofstra it seemed like a good idea to apply. I’ve heard a lot of bad and some good things about the campus and students and I’d like to TRULY know from experience if it’s a good school? I’m a hard worker and I don’t smoke and barely drink. I’m not the one to waste my money on failing out of school and partying but I’m also a social butterfly you could say. So is it worth it? It’s pretty much my #1. Opinions?
Why don’t you move this to the Hofstra page since it is school specific?
@happy1 I think it’s a good choice for op to post here - posts in individual college forums are sometimes a bit biased.
The only opinion I can give is of the music director, who is one of my favorite people in the world.
Good luck deciding!
We did not end up applying there but we used a private college counselor who did recommend it highly - he has over 30 years experience so I trust his judgement. Our family is conservative in lifestyle (not viewpoints) and I don’t think he would have made the recommendation if he didn’t think the environment would fit my son.
Hi @happy1! If you’d like to message me with an email address at which we can reach you, I can connect you with a current Hofstra student that would be happy to talk about their experience.
Best of luck with your decision!
@HofstraRep you should direct this to the original poster. I just posted an response and have no personal interest in Hofstra.
My mistake, @happy1, sorry about that. Thanks for the heads up.
