<p>Accepted to Hofstra and Uconn but waitlisted at Fordham and Syracuse (i have a good chance of getting in though because i know alums of both). </p>
<p>I like Hofstra because it has the Music Industry program that is exactly what I'm looking for
I like Uconn because it's well-known and has great athletics and activities
I like Fordham because of its prestige and great location and would really help me as an International Relations major.
I like Syracuse because of its school spirit and wide range of majors and it is very well-known.</p>
<p>I just can't make up my mind and the deadline is literally 2 days away. Which one do you think i should stress on the most? I know it's my decision but i need opinions...</p>

<p>Well you have to make a deposit soon so I would suggest depositing to UConn it’s a very good school and would provide you with a much better education than Hofstra for a cheaper price. Schools put hundreds of potential students on their waitlist so you may not get off. I don’t think knowing alums will help you significantly unless they work in admissions and write your rec. I’ve heard for Syracuse basically no one that gets off the waitlist gets financial aid so that’s full price at 54 grand a year.</p>

<p>Actually yes, it would be ridiculous for you to attend Hofstra.</p>
<p>I live literally 20 minutes away from Hofstra, and I have no idea why brilliant students choose to attend a rather low-tier like that. They have access to nationally ranked SUNY schools, and they’re perfectly capable of being admitted to such schools.</p>
<p>My personal rant aside, UConn is an unbelievably more prestigious school than Hofstra. I really don’t recommend going to Hofstra unless you’re planning to be a music teacher and you have connections to Long Island schools. UConn music program is phenomenal.</p>
<p>I understand, Calvin. I also don’t think highly of regional schools because you hear so much about them but if you try to go there you realize it’s not bad. I’m not sure if it’s like that at Hofstra but that’s how i thought of Marist first… The thing is, I contacted the guy in charge of the music industry department and thought he was the nicest guy ever, and he went to Julliard and stuff…but I’m not sure if I want to sacrifice attending the school for 4 years because of him and knowing that I got into better colleges…I also have ithaca and manhattanville and Drexel and Umass on my hands but i wanted to narrow it down because this is ridiculous…Also, I JUST got off the waitlist for Uconn and i’m waiting for financial aid which i’m not sure they’ll give me a lot aside from the fact that i’ll be out-of-state. I wanted to be next to NYC and stay in-state which is another reason i’m still pursuing Fordham and Hofstra…Does anyone know which of these schools would have the best International Studies/relations major and music minor? At this point, i think i’d rather have been denied from some of them than accepted to all these thanks</p>
