Holding back English(critical thinking in writing) for Spring bad for admissions?

Hey everyone! I was finishing up my English requirement two terms ago, but had to withdraw from it, and unfortunately my schedule is full with *prereqs and other classes this Fall.
I was just wondering if taking the second part of the English requirement in the Spring for IGETC will affect my chances of getting in?
Thanks.

Usually it's recommended that you take your critical thinking and transferable math at least by the end of the Fall term in which you will be applying (which for us means this semester). Although you might get cut some slack depending on what school and what major your are seeking to enter. By this I mean either a "lower caliber" school or a major with lots of pre-reqs.

Where did you get this information from? Thanks

My TAP adviser.

Keep in mind however that this is (to my knowledge) on no legitimate UC site stated explicitly. I did take my adviser's word for it though. She is a legitimate "not-in-writing" source.

I believe that as grey_syntactics said there is(or possibly was) a requirement in some TAP agreements that all English and Math courses must be completed by the fall semester.

Personally I'm taking my final English course the spring before transfer, and I have heard of other people having success that way. I think it's really a matter of your specific situation.

It won't hurt if your missing 1-2 classes. If your academic record is strong, then you will be fine. They wouldn't subtract points from your application if your only missing one class, make sure it's in progress though.
