As I visit all my various relatives this holiday season I am dreading this question....

"So where are you going to go college?"

to which I will reply

"I dont know yet"

I have always been stumped as to how to anwer that question. Apparently my relatives don't know that I will find out in the spring and I doubt they want to hear me recite the list of schools that I applied to.

Does anyone have a really good, funny way to answer this dreaded question?

Why does the answer have to be funny? Just tell the truth: "Thank you for your interest. I don't know yet, but expect to know by the end of April, and I'll tell you where I'm going then."

Keep in mind that relatives are just being kind and polite to care about your college plans. Their question isn't an inquisition.

If you don't want to discuss this over and over, just have your parents run interference for you. For example, have your Mom tell relatives you'll be seeing in advance that this topic is off limits. That's what a number of families I know do. It's perfectly understandable if you feel that way. They should respect it.
