This promotion seems popular every year when it comes around. Buy a $50 gift card, get a free slice of cheesecake
We havent had a lot of success with āexperienceā gifts, but we do find charities and give to those in lieu of gifts for my family, who donāt go much for gifts. Maybe there could be a thread of favorite charities? We give to classrooms through Donors Choose, but I am sure there are plenty of other good ideas out there, too.
I bought a $50 Cheesecake Factory giftcard for D1ās fiance on black Friday and they sent an extra $15 card with it.
Yes, looks like they switched from a slice of cheesecake to the ābonus cardā which has to be used by the end of February.
We used to do the cheesecake gift card special - the free slice of cheesecake also had a deadline.
Never knew Cheesecake Factory was so popular! Iāve only been to one once and that was decades ago. Maybe Iāll need to check it out sometime!
Yum! Will order that CF gift card to get the bonus car for sure. Yum. Their Miso Salmon with asparagus is SO goodā¦:as is their meatloaf.
Thanks for sharing the tip! @showmom858
It used to be that on Black Friday Cheesecake Factory would offer 2 free slices for every $25 GC you purchased. They all expired after a couple of months, at the end of March IIRC. Kids often picked that restaurant for bdays, so Iād get several GCs to use throughout the year.
Now that kids are gone we donāt go there so often.
Wow, I had no idea that coolers could cost $250. Iām sure your H will appreciate your thoughtfulness of remembering that he wanted to get one.
Our last two Christmases had a Yeti theme. Last year I got everyone personalized insulated cups (wine or high ball depending on the person). The year before each family got a Yeti Roadie.
I think I learned of Jacquie Lawson Advent calendars here last yearā¦too late to send out for the holiday. Sent this yearās out and have already gotten sweet texts from recipients on how much they liked getting one!
Highly recommend!!
If anyone is into NEST candles, Bloomingdaleās has a couple that are on a really good sale.
Sand towels are on sale today on GMA steals and deals for $20
I bought my son McCreaās caramel advent calendar I saw in a link someone posted here. It has 24 pieces of caramel in 12 flavors. He likes it.
My cats are in love with the treats from the TJ cat Advent calendar. Our friendsā cat is enjoying her Petsmart cat toy calendar.
Probably too big for a stocking but these are a social media sensation and can be handy for quick breakfast or snack by about any age old enough to help in the kitchen
People do waffles, cinnamon rolls, hash browns, eggs on them

Give them event tickets or a winery tour card and you can babysit, win win. I get it.
What gift cards go over well with your 30-something kids? Mine is in the Boston area. He sometimes gets us experience gifts, but since heāll be busy getting ready for a June wedding Iām leaning more toward gift card or check.
A timely story for why I give cash/check and never gift cards:
Was headed to lunch today and decided to finally make the effort and use a wallet that matches a purse. Buried deep within one of the wallet sections was a Toys R Us gift card.
Who knows how old this GC or even the amount; but it must be quite old as our local Toys R Us store closed probably 6-8 years ago. (And yeah, maybe I should have used this wallet that still had tag on it prior to today, too. But I used to be a sucker for Coach purses and matching accessories at outlet stores.)
I tossed the GC bc Iām sure itās expired and I donāt want to know how much I wasted not using it.)
In our stateā¦gift cards never expire.
I volunteer at a charity thrift shop. Someone donated a hanging Christmas card holder. I reached into one of the pockets, and there was a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble. Luckily someone knew who had donated this card holder. Turns out, they didnāt even know the person who gifted them the card holder had included a gift card (10 years prior) and had never written a thank you note either! We returned the gift card to the person who donated itā¦they were very grateful!
