Ooh, I might to stop by my local Binny’s to check those out. Sound like a great hostess gift the next couple of weeks.

None in Wisconsin
thank you though!

There is a cocktail subscription box - shaker and spoon. My husband did it for a few months. It’s everything but the alcohol. He enjoyed it.

A little different cocktail path, but my son loves the art of making a cocktail and often will use herbs in that process so I bought him this book - which came highly recommended and looks like it’s highly recommended in its reviews!

My mother and aunt’s caregivers were with them for 7 and 5 years. We always gave them a week’s salary in cash, gift certificate for nail salon and a a gift certificate for a massage.

THANK YOU! I ordered these for our adult kids and my SH and I think they were the favorite gift this year! So grateful for these gift threads

I wasn’t that impressed with them when I received them in the mail but my kids, and their boyfriends, really liked them. The girls grabbed the bracelets but will allow the boyfriends to follow them online.

CC came through again. Daughter, who doesn’t like anything, really liked her Aerogarden. They built an outside garden last fall and are looking forward to starting the seeds inside. Their friends have an Aerogarden so I guess they are acceptable. I also got her an extra set of ‘salsa’ seed pods (tomatoes and peppers) and she liked that.

She gave her boyfriend some kind of fancy smoker grill so the thermopen was also a good choice, plus I got a bunch of Trader Joe spices in a gift exchange so he got those too.

Other daughter liked her quilt made from her old hockey jerseys too.

All in all, a good gift giving christmas.

We gifted eight Trader Joe’s wax amaryllis bulbs this year, based on two very positive feedbacks (bloomed same day) last year. It was a nice thing to tuck into the mailed Christmas boxes. Great to know the Costco ones do so nicely
. we will get a new Costco in town next year.

Was gonna post into “Random Questions” thread, but then I figured this is a mailorder-savvy crowd

What has been your experience on Lands End returns? Years ago I returned for free at Sears stores, but they are gone now. We have no local Lands End store, so I think if not ordering a replacement I’d be stuck with $6.95 return fee
. but if multiple items returned not sure if they could be combined into one package for single fee.

Returns can be made by:

  • Shipper of Your Choice
  • Easy Return Label found on your packing slip ($6.95)

We have 2 Trader Joe waxed amaryllis bulbs we bought two weeks ago, put in right conditions, and they look the same as they did when we bought them two weeks ago - 1 1/2 inch stalks. The four we purchased at Home Depot last year did very well in the same spots.

We bought two waxed amaryllises at two different TJ’s on the same day. The red one is about the same height as last year’s; the white one considerably taller. Neither is as lovely as the variegated from last year.

Edit to note they were bought exactly three weeks ago.

Just picked up 3 packs of 15 Harry Potter socks @$8 apiece from Target (1/2 price, after Christmas sale). They are for D and my 2 goddaughters. Will hang onto them for next year. S thinks they’ll all enjoy them.

Last year I bought several red TJ amaryllis and one white. The white one took off, but the red ones were slow. I didn’t buy any this year, but D bought a red one and was complaining about its failure to do anything so far when I was at her house for Christmas. Hopefully, the red ones will kick into gear soon.

For those wondering if their waxed amaryllis are doing what they should, here’s an update on our two purchased the same day from two different Trader Joe’s:

And as a comparison, last year’s:
