I have a 3.92 GPA with challenging classes and a 25 ACT. My ECs are also pretty good and show concentration. Also have good community service. My ACT obviously is not good for colleges that weed out applicants by their stats early on the admissions process. In addition to my favorite schools (NEU, BU, AU) and some safeties, I was thinking I could apply to a few college that practice a holistic review process with each applicant. A few I know of are St. Olaf, Carleton, and Macalester, but I'm from MN and don't want to stay in state. What are some schools (pref out east, but open to other regions) that do holistic review that would fit my stats (ACT can be above my score since holistic would help me out a bit)? Thanks!

I’ve read Reed is one for which only 20% of the admission is based on grades and scores. But their atmosphere is very different - pretty much the ultimate work hard/play hard.

Why not investigate some test-optional schools, e.g. Holy Cross?

There are many. See this link: [SAT/ACT Optional 4-Year Universities | FairTest](ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest)

I work at a College in the South East where a 25 comp on the ACT would earn you a 4-Year scholarship worth about $21,000( Divide by 8 for semester ammount). That accounts for close to a third of your tuition and fees each semester. Shoot me a PM if you want to learn more.
