"Holistically" ?

The reason I had consistent A’s and B’s during my high school career is because of my schedule (crew 6 hours a week, basketball was 8 hours a week, teaching was 6, and working every Friday-Sunday). I kept myself VERY busy, and that had a negative impact on my grades. I hope UVa reviews holistically for people like me.

SAT: My SAT scores are no bueno…I have taken the SAT 3 times, and gotten a 540 in both writing and critical reading, and a 450 in math…standardized testing is not my forté. I spent countless hours and money on trying to improve my score. I would take 1 SAT test at my house each week through programs and books. Bleh!

GPA weighted is 3.9

7 AP’s all in all in high school. The rest all honors except in math each year. Wish I had a love for math and the amazing skills some people acquire, but my love became language.

Intended major: Foreign languages and linguistics
I have taken 6 years of Spanish (skipped Spanish 2), German 1

National Language Honor Society
National Honor Society
Beta Club

My hobby: Self taught myself multiple languages to conversational fluency (Russian mostly), therefore I identify myself as a polyglot. I hope to become fluent in Russian, German, Korean, Arabic, and Mandarin.

Fun fact: Adopted from Russia, I am also a legacy because my dad went to UVA

Volunteer: ESL instructor for adult immigrants twice a week
Spanish/English interpreter at a free clinic

Work: Barnes and Noble barista and bookseller, work 20+ hours a weekend, I am a trained salesperson so I think I want to go into international sales (international marketing managing).

Sports: Crew and basketball (basketball freshman and sophomore year).

There’s no reason not to try, anything can happen. Just try to sell yourself in every way possible.

Well, on the app, I mean. Don’t prostitute yourself.

BAHAHHA omg you’re awesome xD
