What are majors Holy Cross is known for? I know they have the largest undergraduate Classics department.

Does anyone know anything about the "prestige level" (as much as I hate to call it that) of the Women's and Gender Studies program? Or which liberal arts college has a well known Women's and Gender Studies major?

I really want to transfer from Syracuse University for my junior year. Will that hurt me more than transferring for my sophomore year? (Too late now, though. So spare my feelings! Haha.)

Classics, Biology, Economics, Religious Studies

just to add to the list above: premed

I don’t know any schools that are particularly known for “Women’s and Gender Studies” degrees.

I don’t either, but English Language and Literature Foreign Languages, Classics, History; Psychology are all popular majors along with Bio/pre-med.
I have always worked in a medical office or hospital, so I would naturally meet more men and women alumni in that area.

Holy Cross only has a concentration in Women’s Studies, some universities have majors.

a quicks search on this site brought this older thread:

Thanks everyone!

On the Holy Cross website it says students can design their own majors. What’s the difference between a “concentration” and a “major”? Can’t I just make a Women’s and Gender Studies major?

Sometimes a concentration compliments a major, a minor is usually in a different subject.

You can ask your advisor for guidance or any of the staff in Women and Gender:
