I was accepted into Holy Cross, Colgate, and Villanova. Which of these schools are most “prestigious?”
idk anything about any of these schools, but I say just commit to whatever school you like the most! Being prestigious isn’t the only criteria and it’s not that important once you get there tbh. Look at the campus, the social environment, your major’s offerings, and job opportunities. If you are still wanting to make sure you go to a prestigious school, then I would look up the acceptance rate along with graduation rates and awards won for programs you’re interested in! Sorry if this was not helpful!
Probably Colgate, with HC and Villanova probably about the same not far behind, but don’t decide on that basis. What do you intend to study and what are you looking for?
With Colgate, you have gotten into one of the 50 most selective schools in the country:
Decision day was a week and a half ago so which did you choose?
Since the original post appeared just 2 hours ago, two or more of these schools may represent waiting list acceptances. It would be better if the OP clarified this, however.
I am probably choosing Holy Cross just because the financial aid is better. I hope I’m not making the wrong choice.
I live in MA and Holy Cross is very respected around here. It’s a great place to go to college.
Finances should be part of the decision and Holy Cross is a great school. Move forward with no regrets.
Doctor Fauci went to Holy Cross. Enough prestige?
A little confused. Did you get off waitlists at these? Colgate told kids they were likely not going to WL.
Decision day was over a week ago. Too late to choose now if these were regular acceptances.
This article is from 2019. All of these colleges had even lower acceptance rates this year.
@thomassgrant have you placed deposits at all three colleges?
What are you planning on Majoring in?
Congrats on your great acceptances. My D21 faced a similar decision two weeks ago having been accepted to Holy Cross, Colgate, Washington & Lee. In the end, Colgate was her favorite with Holy Cross a close second. She received the Magis Scholarship ($80K over 4 years) at Holy Cross which made HC > $80K less expensive than Colgate over the 4 years. I told her that we would put the difference towards Graduate School if she choose HC but that we supported her decision if she choose Colgate but no money left for Grad School. She committed to HC. All three are great schools, go the least expensive route especially if you plan to attend Grad School. Best of Luck!
