Hey all,
Basically I'm a sophomore at one of the top schools in NJ and I am DIEING to go to holy cross
My current gpa is a 3.3 but I plan on getting straight A's junior year with 7 courses that brings me to a 3.56 UW, I already took the math level one SAT II and got a 740
I'm a varsity captain, math tutor, give tours to perspective parents of the school and work at all school run events, tutor underprivileged kids, mentor the mentally handicapped, have a summer job and i plan on submitting an art portfolio with my application, also i volunteer at the church
I had the qualifying score the national merit on the PSAT's but since sophomores can't get it I didn't.
Next year i'm only taking one ap and honors math and senior year i plan on loading up on the AP's
another question I had on my mind was should i switch out of ceramics II and pick up another ap? I would certainly do clay on the side because its such a staple in my life
what score do i need on the sat's to counter my horrible freshman and sophomore years?
Also when i calculate do i calculate the lay up classes like health and art?

Learn proper English.

wow, davidthefat.
as the only person to reply to his message i was expecting for u to say something good.
sorry, captain13 but i cant help, dont now alot about that stuff?

Get 600s or very high 500s and you’ll be fine. But yeah, it’s a good idea to get in the habit of using proper spelling/grammar. If you’re aiming for a high quality liberal arts school make that comes as second nature, especially when in communities like this.

Know this: if you’re going to end up at Holy Cross, be prepared for regular beatings from RIT in the AHA ;)

sorry for my poor grammar and spelling i just wanted to quickly post something to get some sort of feedback… im too tired to worry about little details like that

Don’t worry about it man, good luck with your college hunt!

[Take a look at some other schools, too. Can’t hurt ;)]

I know it can’t hurt but everything about it I love!

also how do i weigh my gpa?

any more help?

my daughter had 740 reading 710 writing 640 math and was girl scout peer leader altar server etc…waitlisted!

^^LACs are more popular with girls, so they tend to be more admit-friendly for guys (38% acceptance rate vs. 33% for females).

that’s not making me feel too good…
I know my gpa may be a limiting factor so I hope I can make up for it with test scores and the EC’s

also best of luck to your daughter wherever she ends up

another question that just poped up:
I could switch to my local public school, get all A’s in all AP’s give up my varsity captinship (word check?) have no trouble or anything like that
or I could stay at the school I’m at now which is one of the most, if not the most, competitive in NJ
