Interested in the following schools:

Yale
Northwestern
Emerson
Sarah Lawrence
Cornell
Brown
Columbia
Stanford
UMASS - Amherst

Opinions? Criticism? Suggestions?

URM-status + outstanding academics + solid EC's = very good to sure shot at all the schools you listed.

Thanks. Good confidence builder. The Yale admissions stats this year in particular are quite the stressor.

...Ugh I didn't want to be one of the people who do this, but...oh well!

Bump.

I just want to say I envy you for going to a school with what looks like a really strong drama program.

Haha, all-boys schools suck. :P

I adore my high school for the theatre that it produces, especially considering that it's the smallest and supposedly most "ghetto" school in the pretty prestigious Cherry Creek School District here in CO.

Too bad you weren't around to be in one of my out-of-school theatre activites...we were ALWAYS short on guys...I'm seriously an expert at playing male roles because we averaged like three guys in a class of 15 or so every single year.

Good God...you have all those schools on your list...UMass sticks out like a sore thumb!

Haha. I didn't actually mean UMass, I meant Amherst College. Dunno what I was thinking at the time...Probably distracted by some inane MTV show or something haha.

Yeah, big difference!

hahahahahha. world championship cup stacking.

hahahaha

at least it's unique??

Yeah I know...weird stuff. But they hold the world championship at the convention center in Denver and it's an awesome way to score community service and it's a really interesting world to see in action...Seriously. These kids are an interesting bunch, although you have to give them props for practicing stacking cups for hours every day. Mmm...cups...

Provided you are able to write relatively good essays, you are likely to gain acceptance to any college (including Harvard, Princeton, Caltech etc). If I were you, I would include a safety or two and then apply to the absolute top schools.
