<p>There's also more competition-- every NYC kid applies to Columbia, probably.</p>
<p>And NYU too probably. But yeah, I'd say you're at a disadvantage of you live in the state the school is in, unless it's like a state school. Also, asian is not a minority, so it doesn't help you.</p>
