<p>My frosh D just informed me that she is expected to stay on campus over Thanksgiving to do course work.</p>
<p>Is this pretty standard? What do they do for meals?</p>
<p>Gosh, I hope that is not the case with all students. I already made flight reservations. </p>
<p>Did your daughter say why she is expected to stay over Thanksgiving? Was it one class or studio in particular? I do believe most freshmen take the same 5 courses (3 studios - design, drawing and spatial dynamics; and 2 liberal arts classes - art history and some English class).</p>
<p>At that Parent Orientation talk on move-in day (Saturday, Sept 12), the Foundations “dean” (not sure of her title) talked about the fact that there would be a full day on Tuesday, so we shouldn’t schedule flights until after that. To me, that implies that students can indeed leave for Thanksgiving. Guess I’ll doublecheck with my D…</p>
